Waiting...

I have to say...this is the toughest part of the pregnancy. Yeah, morning sickness, bloating, heartburn, discomfort, swelling...those things are tough but nothing compared to waiting. I know the little ticker on the side of my blog says 5 days and he's not over due (yet..) but I'm feeling overdone and ready to hold my little bundle of joy! I'm emotionally and physically spent!

I found this poem - go grab some Kleenex - it's beautiful and says how I feel so well.

Waiting

Dear Baby, here beneath my heart,
I thought that you might come today;
The timing seemed just right.

But the stars are out
And the moon is high
And sheepishly I wonder why
I try to arrange the plans
Of God.

For now I know
You will not come
Until the One who holds eternity
Rustles your soft cocoon
And whispers in tones that I will not hear,
“It’s time, precious gift.”

“Now it’s time.”

38 wks! Almost there!

Howdy Yall!

Well - had my 38 wk appointment today. Moved it from Friday to today just cause I had to get in sooner! Feeling veryyy different this week. Could barely walk yesterday and just very achy. I know this is how it's supposed to go and I welcome the pain - No pain no gain/baby. ;) Here's an update.

Current picture...
Yeah not very cute... this was yesterday morning - in a LOT of pain and trying to smile. I wanted to be sure to get a picture this week cause I was worried the week would pass by without one!

Here's the update:

How far along?
38 wks and 4 days!

How big is the baby?
They guessed around 7 lbs (@ my 36 wk appt)... yeah not very scientifically. She just took a look at my belly when I laid down and guessed. I know ultrasounds are not accurate either - but oh well! They pack on the pounds these last weeks.. about 1/2 lb per week! Ryan and I were both 7 something when we were born! This boy might be a chunk...I'd love that. :)

Weight gain?
Yeah - more than I wanted. 40 lbs... but I know my body is doing what it's supposed to to keep Landon and myself healthy. Hopefully I can drop it fasttttt...

Stretch marks?
Nada! Still using coco butter lotion after showers and when I get itchy. I've heard they can 'appear' as your stomach goes down... hmm I guess we'll see.

Sleep?
What's that? Tossing and turning and visiting our porcelain throne. :) It's ok though, I know once Landon is here it will be more exhausting and won't be as easy as I have it right now ...getting up and going right back to bed.

Best moment of the week?
Today @ my dr appt! I now have an idea about how things are going... 3cm, 80% effaced and he's stationed at a -1! His heartbeat sounded great too. Sometimes I can't believe this is real, but it is!

Food and cravings?
Any sweets - candy, ice cream etc. Still loving carrots and veggie/ranch dip, and hardboiled eggs. Random I know...but no pickles and ice cream for me.

Movement?
He's pretty crammed in there so it doesn't feel like it used to, but he's definitely moving furniture in there! Feel his feet the most cause they're up. He was moving a lot at the appointment today...while she was finding his heart beat. I was having a contraction and once it was over he started to wiggle and squirm again and then his heart rate went up. Really neat to see happen, and the dr said it's good to see his heart rate do that!

Belly Button?
Out as out can be. Won't go back until Landon is here!

Looking forward to....
Meeting our baby boy!

Nursery Pictures!

Nursery Pictures are here!!! Ryan and I have had a lot of fun getting his room together, and we think it turned out beautifully! Here's a bunch of pictures from different angles of Landon's little nursery.

Diaper wreath made my Melissa :)

What you see when you walk in...

Right wall - our beautiful dresser!

One of our favorite things we did on the wall. That decal was hard to get on, but it looks great! We like the anchor and wheel a lot too.

Hard to get this shot... rocker and crib in the way, but just another view. The ceiling isn't that short - just how the picture turned out.

Really neat gift we got! Has the alphabet and LANDON is spelled out in the red letters. Too cute!

Window...valance in the crib set turned out better looking than I expected!

Where Ry and I will spend many sleepless nights rocking our little boy!

Anna painted the canvas...beautiful! Sandy made the whale, and Alissa's family gave us the picture frame and ship!

Love our crib!

Ryan and I made the letters for his name above the crib! We were very proud of our craftiness. :)

Ryan spotted the fabric and the rope for the edges...he has a great eye.

Closet...we have three more little canvases going on the wall to the right of the crib.

Photo board from our baby shower...has the crib sheet fabric on it. The little cards are letters that friends and family wrote to Ryan, Landon and I. They are so sweet and something we will cherish forever.

We cannot wait for our little boy to get here! 2 weeks and counting!!!!!

36/almost 37 week update!

Well here we are!!! Almost full term! Yay! What an incredible/unbelievable journey this has been. Here's a pic of baby boy and I. He is OUT THERE!

Had my 36 wk appt today. Here are the updates:

*According to 'what to expect' he is about the size of a large cantaloupe. wowzers
Cantaloupe large

*She feels he's just under 7 lbs! (Ryan and I both were around 7 lbs when we were born..) So if he gains about a 1/2 lb a week, he'll be close to 9lbs! Yikes! Just as long as he's healthy. Hopefully my body can carry him!

*I'm positive for Group B Strep which is a bacteria they found in my urine (yeah TMI) It's no big deal, just means I'll need to be pumped with antibiotics every 4 hrs during labor so neither of us get an infection.

*His heart rate sounded great. Around the 130s.

*His head is down and ready to go! :)

*She said my symptoms sound like my body is 'warming up' and preparing for labor, buttttt most FTM (first time moms) make it to their due date or later. Everyone is saying they think he'll be early - Ry and I think so too, but really what do we know?! Probably more hopes for it than anything. I need to quit getting my hopes up!!!!

The next full moon is May 17 - mom told me to look that up. hehe Who knows...

It's a wonderful life!
