2 Months!

Happy 2 Months Baby Boy!

Sweet Landon,

As I am typing this you are sleeping so peacefully in your favorite swing. You take your best naps there. How is it that my newborn baby is 2 Months already? My heart isn't ready for you to grow up so fast.

Now time to do a little bragging about you...

You are big and strong. I love how you don't seem so fragile any more. You are such a big boy now...I'm guessing almost 15 lbs! (We'll find out today..) In your 1 month picture your shoulder kept slipping under the armrest and now you're so long that you could sit up straight! Of course with a little help from mom to get you situated just right. You love to kick your arms and legs really hard and breath really fast at the same time. I think you like to show off your new moves. :) You also love when we stand you up on your feet like you're getting ready to walk and you puff out your chest and pump your arms as if you're saying "Look at me! I'm such a big boy!" We love watching you grow.

You are SO alert! I get the biggest thrill when Daddy gets home from work and your face just lights up and smiles so big for him. You love your daddy. I noticed you are studying our faces and get so excited when you recognize them (and we do too.) My favorite is when you wake up in the morning and you see us staring at you and your'e so excited to see us! Your mouth opens real wide and you smile with your whole face. Your eyes sparkle. You are really discovering and exploring the world around you and I know you are so smart.

You are a good lookin' boy. I know I'm bias, but we honestly made such a handsome baby boy. Your dark brown hair is just adorable and we love your chubby cheeks and belly! Can't wait to watch you grow up and see your personality. I bet you'll be funny like your daddy. :)

I had so many dreams about you before you were born. And here we are...now 2 Months old. Cannot believe it. Can you just slow down a little more please?!

We are so thankful for our precious gift.

Happy 2 Months pumpkin...

Love,
Mama

Story time with Daddy :)

Landon is changing so quickly! Cannot believe it...everyone told me he would - but didn't think he could this fast. He has great head/neck control and can pick his head up and move it side to side during 'tummy time'. Only when he is in a good mood to do tummy time. ;)

His eyes have developed so much lately too. He can follow or track things moving, focus better on our faces or things close to him, he started recognizing himself in a mirror and loves to play on his activity mat or 'baby gym' because he can see the cute things hanging above him! I knew talking to him and reading to him were very important things to do, but it sort of feels silly to 'read' when he's this young. Well we finally got some baby books with pictures and few words... he loves them!!! Here's a video of Ryan reading to him. He would probably be embarrassed that I posted this... we both have our 'baby talk' voices that we think are so silly and annoying, but oh well! Landon loves it. I'm a very proud mommy and teacher. :)

Baby L is 7 wks!

Landon is 7 weeks today!
Almost two months?!?! I need things to slooooow down...

Hanging out with mama in his favorite chair...so in love!
I could just eat those cheeks all day!!!!

Lots of people ask what I love about being a mom - well there are so many answers to this question, but I think this video says it all...

I get to wake up everyday and see this cutie's smiling face! I think he's saying, "You're the best Mom! I love you!"

Baby Boy,
You are so very loved.  I am crazy about you and loving every little minute of our new life together. I have never known love like this...

Mama

Woven and Spun...

Found a Nichole Nordeman CD in my car yesterday... I have had this CD forever and on my drive around town with Landon I started scanning through each song. Have you ever heard a song on the radio or your iPod and remember the time in your life that you first heard it or listened to it the most? Sort of brings back those memories. I got this CD back in high school and it definitely brought back memories...especially where I was with my relationship with God. Trying to navigate teen years was tough and I'd always pray for help and guidance - like the song says '...be my best friend', no matter the prayer God always replied "I Am.."

This song does a beautiful job of showing different seasons in some women's lives, and I love how in each 'season' God is called different names.  "Elbow healer, Superhero" - perfect image of how a child might view God. The bold paragraph is right where I am now... married and with a baby. I also found it interesting how Nichole Nordeman used "I Am" as God's answer back to our prayers...and in the bible Jesus also says
"I Am the way the truth and the life"
"I Am the Good Shepherd"
"I Am the Alpha and Omega, Beginning and End".

The rest of the lyrics are below along with a youtube video of the song.

I Am
by: Nichole Nordeman

Pencil marks on a wall, I wasn't always this tall
You scattered some monsters from beneath my bed
You watched my team win
You watched my team lose
Watched when my bicycle went down again
And when I was weak, unable to speak
Still I could call You by name
And I said, Elbow Healer, Superhero
Come if You can
You said, I Am

Only sixteen, life is so mean
What kind of curfew is at 10pm?
You saw my mistakes
And watched my heart break
Heard when I swore I'd never love again
And when I was weak, unable to speak
Still I could call You by name
And I said Heartache Healer, Secret Keeper/
Be my best friend
And you said, I Am

You saw me wear white by pale candlelight
I said forever to what lies ahead
Two kids and a dream, with kids that can scream
Too much it might seem when it is 2am
And when I am weak, unable to speak
Still I will call You by name
Shepherd, Savior, Pasture Maker
Hold onto my hand
You say, I Am

The winds of change and circumstance blow in and all around us
So we find a foothold that's familiar
And bless the moments that we feel You nearer

When life had begun, I was woven and spun
You let the angels dance around the throne
And who can say when, but they'll dance again
When I am free and finally headed home
I will be weak, unable to speak
Still I will call You by name
Creator, Maker, Life Sustainer
Comforter, Healer, my Redeemer
Lord and King, Beginning and the End

I Am
Yes, I Am

That is my prayer now... "Hold onto my hand"

God Bless You!

It's a wonderful life!

So You Think You Can Dance!

MY FAVORITE SUMMER SHOW IS BACK ON!

So You Think You Can Dance just makes my week! (Besides seeing my precious baby's smile..) The talent just gets better and better each year, making the competition SO tough. I'm very impressed with the group this season, and it's really hard to know who is going home each Thursday.

Here are two routines I love! Of course there's more I'll post, but I just love this couple too.

Caitlynn Lawson - 18 years old
Mitchell Kelly - 20 years old

Each dancer comes with an 'expertise' from their training - they both are Contemporary dancers. Here's one routine I have fallen in love with!!! I'm a ballerina at heart, so I can't help but love this contemporary stuff. Plus - any routine with a Celine Dion song has always been a huge hit!

Dancers: Caitlynn & Mitchell
Choreographer: Mandy Moore (no, not the singer..)
Style: Contemporary
Song: Love You More by: Celine Dion

Here's another routine these two performed together. It's a sassy samba! Gosh I would love to learn ballroom! Watching this show makes me miss dancing!

Dancers: Caitlynn & Mitchell
Choreographer: Jean Marc Genereux
Style: Samba
Song: Put It In a Love Song by: Alicia Keys featuring Beyonce

Of course had to give you a little dose of Landon :) Love my little man...

One Month Old!!! Cannot believe it... caught this pic/smile on my cell phone, somehow he was too fast for the camera but I managed on my cell. Each month I'm going to take a picture of him in our rocker with the # of the month next to him. We're going to see this boy grow! He's already changed so much. He has stolen my heart. Love you sweet baby.

4th of July!

UniversalScraps.com - 4th Of July Blinkies

I LOVE the 4th of July! I love summertime and so this holiday is just extra fun. Good (but so bad for you) food, fun parades and fireworks, being with family and friends - what could be better?! Too bad the drought it so bad we can't have firework shows around here. Oh well - the Macy's 4th of July parade/firework special on TV will have to do.

Now that little Landon is here - I have found how fun it is going to be so fun to dress him up for holidays!! We were given this adorable onesie and it's perfect for this holiday! However...baby boy is out of newborn clothes and cannot fit into it anymore. :( I knew this would happen quickly - everyone warned me. Can't believe how big he is getting!

Ryan's family came to visit and meet the little boy...here are a few pics from their visit!

Ryan's brother, dad, Uncle and grandmother
(Evan, Gumpa Dave, Nunca Dussel, and Great Grandma Orchard)
Evan, Linda, Orchard, Russell
Sweet Great Grandma Orchard - he fell asleep as soon as she started holding him

Nonna and Papa Joe also came through town to visit!

Nonna, Landon and Papa Joe... Landon was a bit grumpy/hungry
Good thing I got this bottle ready before we left! Nonna LOVED feeding him...
Papa Joe gave it a go... are they really old enough to be grandparents?!?!

And here are some pictures of my sweet baby boy... cannnnnot believe he is a month old already! Goodness...

He fell asleep like this...such a little model!
LOVE this smile... such a happy kid
Cutie!
